Philip is a Professor of Biomedical Data Science and (by courtesy) of Statistics at Stanford University. He currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Department of Biomedical Data Science, and Co-Director of Spectrum, Stanford’s Clinical and Translational Sciences Award (CTSA). His research interests center on innovative clinical trials design, especially for seamless phase II-III trials, biomarker-guided treatments, point-of-care randomization for comparative effectiveness research, and sequential multiple assignment randomized trials for adaptive treatment strategies. His trial designs are geared towards dynamic (adaptive) treatment regimes, psychiatric research, and cancer.
