Shasha is an established health care and drug development problem solver. He holds a double major in Chemistry and Physics (Macalester College), and postgraduate degrees in Biomedical Engineering & Biomedical Sciences from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Albany Medical College, NY. His previous industry appointments include XenoPort Inc and Amgen Inc and Genentech Inc. As the Pharmacometrics Group Leader at Genentech Inc., Shasha’s group supported all BioOncology and Immunology molecules through pre-clinical and clinical development. Shasha has also served as a consultant to industry and non-profit organizations, specializing in Infectious Disease, Immunology, BioOncology, and Virology knowledge integration, disease modeling, and health care reform through technology transfer. Shasha co-founded Pharmactuarials LLC in 2009 and currently serves on the board of directors. He is currently the Quantitative Sciences Analytics and Modeling lead for HIV and Family Planning multipurpose technologies, and the Healthy birth, growth and development initiative at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
