Alice Whittemore, PhD

Alice S. Whittemore is Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the Department of Health Research and Policy at Stanford University School of Medicine. Her research focuses on statistical methods for epidemiological studies of site-specific cancers, particularly cancers of the prostate, ovary, and breast. She is a member of the Institute of Medicine, a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, a Fellow of the American Statistical Association, and a member of the American Epidemiological Society. Dr. Whittemore has received numerous awards for her work, and she has served on many advisory boards for the National Institutes of Health.
