Gaurav Singal, M.D., is a physician and computer scientist who leads the Innovations Unit at Foundation Medicine, where he is responsible for new technology and data-centric products. Most recently, Dr. Singal led the design and development of the Interactive Cancer Explorer® (ICE 2), Foundation Medicine’s physician-facing clinical decision support and patient management platform which leverages its database of genomic profiles to facilitate use of real world outcomes in clinical care. Prior to Foundation Medicine, Dr. Singal developed several natural-language processing (NLP)-based applications to improve care delivery and research at Massachusetts General Hospital, as well as award-winning international web services such as MyHealthChecklist.org and RotatingRoom.com. Dr. Singal earned a B.S., Summa Cum Laude, in computer engineering from Columbia University and an M.D. with Honors from the joint Harvard Medical School-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology. He continues to practice medicine as an attending physician at Massachusetts General Hospital.
