Purvesh Khatri, PhD
Assistant Professor, Medicine, Stanford
Purvesh is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Immunity, Transplantation and Infection (ITI) and Center for Biomedical Informatics Research (BMIR) at Stanford University’s School of Medicine. He received his PhD in Computer Science from Wayne State University. His graduate research focused on pathway analysis and the use of Gene Ontology to help explain molecular findings from high throughput measurements and he authored the Onto-Express and Onto-Tools packages. Purvesh continues to develop novel methods for high throughput data analysis. He has created a computational framework for integration of omics data sets, and applied this framework for (1) biomarker discovery in transplant and cancer, (2) novel genes involved in carcinogenesis in lung, and (3) repurposing FDA-approved drugs.
