Hank is the Deane F. and Kate Edelman Johnson Professor of Law and Professor, by courtesy, of Genetics at Stanford. He specializes in the ethical, legal, and social implications of advances in the biosciences. He is chair of California’s Human Stem Cell Research Advisory Committee, a member of the the National Academies’ Committee on Science, Technology, and Law, the Neuroscience Forum of the Institute of Medicine, the National Advisory Council of NIGMS, and the NIH Working Group on the BRAIN Initiative. Hank directs the Law School’s Center for Law and the Biosciences and the Stanford Program in Neuroscience and Society.
