Usha is Professor and Associate Dean for Research and Global Advances at The Univeristy of Arizona College of Nursing in Tucson, Arizona; and Co-PI of the University of Arizona-Banner Health All of UsSM Research Program-Precision Medicine Initiative. Her research focuses on the development and testing of tailored interventions to increase cancer screening behavior, with a primary emphasis on increasing early detection among aging, minority, and vulnerable populations and the reduction of health disparities in cancer prevention. For over 15 years, she has been funded by NIH and other agencies to develop and test interventions to increase breast and colorectal cancer screening behaviors. Usha has led her interdisciplinary team in testing these interventions in various formats such as phone, in-person, interactive computer and web-based.
