Ami Bhatt, MD, PhD

Ami is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Genetics at Stanford University School of Medicine. Her laboratory researches relationships between the human microbiome and noncommunicable diseases, including cancer. She is known for her creative applications of genetics and computational biology in the field of microbiome research and is the winner of the 2016 Damon Runyon Clinical Investigator Award. She is the Director of Global Oncology for the Stanford Center for Innovation in Global Health and was the winner of the 2017 CUGH Global Health Mid-Career Award. Ami co-founded Global Oncology, a non-profit multidisciplinary organization established to improve cancer outcomes for underserved populations worldwide through the creation of dynamic partnerships among experts and health care providers in resource-limited areas.
